この曲を作る時ずっとマイクヴェセーラの歌声が頭から離れなかった。
この曲を聴く時はマイクヴェセーラの声をイメージしながら聴いて頂けると有り難いです。
で、なんとしても本人にコンタクトしたいと思ったのですが、彼が今何をしているのか全く情報が見つからず（でも何もせずに諦めるのは嫌なので）、このブログで
情報提供者が見つからないか試みる事にしました。

Manitowocについて。
Manitowocはアメリカの地名です。
位置としてはシカゴからミシガン湖畔を北上し、ミルウォーキーを通過しその更に北「Sheboygan」と「Green Bay」の間に位置する街です。
歌詞にあるように面白い歴史を持った街です。
昔、インディアンが良い魂の宿る場所として“Mundeowk”と呼んだのが
始まりで、今の「Manitowoc」になっています。
その後フランスの猟師たちがその場所を1673年に見つけて住み着き、ヨーロッパから多くの人が永住の地を求めて移住してきました。
いつの世も同じですが歴史はその輝かしい部分がクローズアップされます。そこには多くの涙を流した人たちがたくさんいました（冬には-15度にもなる寒い場所です）。彼等の涙や努力がなくては今のManitowocはありません。そしてその証として彼等の魂が今も息づいています。バドワイザービールが始めて作られたのもこの街だと聞いています。
なぜ、サビの部分でPut your name on to someone's two hearts.
（誰かの二つの心に名前を残しなさい）と書いたかについて
いくらかの人から質問を受けました。
前述のとおり、歴史に残された輝かしい部分と、そのために
涙を流した人。物事には必ず二つの側面があります。
光と影、始まりと終わり、真実と嘘、縦と横、等々。だから魂を残すためには「二つの心に名前を残す」事が必要である。と書いてみました。

ところで昨年アメリカの友人から郵便が届きました。封を開けてびっくりしたのですが、
Rock Starの表紙に私の写真が・・・！ちょっと凄くないですか！？

この友人はキーボードがメインのロックが好きな人で、私の音楽にキーボードが入ってないと文句を言う。「よせよギタリストだぜ」（なぜか急にロックスターの口調だったりする）と思いながら、「オーケーいいさ」ってキーボードに向かっている今日この頃、皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。今回の曲はリニューアルしたスタジオでの初作品。タイトルはManitowoc.　・・・そんなこんなで、しょーもないキーボードのソロがあったりする。

肝心のギターは、Fenderの73-4Bと言う型番のストラトキャスター（1981年頃に新品で購入）でソロを弾きました。このギターはボディーがホワイトアッシュでラージヘッドなのに4点留めのちょっと珍しいストラトです（仕様としてはアニバーサリーモデルと同じ）。ピックアップをディマジオのFS-1に交換してあります。で、マクソンのTS-9から73年製のマーシャルへ接続しました。

バッキングのギターは2007年に発売が開始されたFender USA イングヴェイモデルのプロトタイプ。これはシリアルから2006年製で見事な木材を使った珍しいものです。日本での発売前にアメリカの楽器店から入手しました。

バッキングの録音にはこのギターとKeeleyのKatana Clean Boostをつまみを引っ張らない状態（通常のブーストのみ）でマーシャルに接続。いたってシンプルです。

今までベースギターの録音で悩んでい?ｽのですが、今回LINE6 のBASS PODを入手し使用しました。評判が良いシュミレーターだけあって、良い結果になったような気がします。
ベースギターはウァッシュバーンのキップ・ウインガーモデルを使用しました。

歌も歌ってみましたがキーが高くて苦労しました。では、Manitowoc, Play Loud!

About Manitowoc.
Manitowoc is a name of the place located in Wisconsin USA.
The town located between Sheboygan and Green bay.
The town has unique history.
Indians called us "Mundeowk, Home of the Good Spirit" because of our beautiful harbors and rivers. Around the year 1673, French trappers discovered our bountiful offerings and, in 1795, the Northwest Fur Company incorporated a trading post. As building began, many people of Bohemian, French, German, Irish, Norwegian and Polish descent settled in the area.
Manitowoc was officially founded in 1836. In 1839, the county government was formed and the first courthouse followed a year later. Early county commissioners authorized the first roads to connect the farms and settlements of the area.
Always history book tells good historical story, you know. But there were lot of people who did hard effort to get better their life. Manitowoc has hard winter season.
Present fantastic Manitowoc was made by their effort.
I believe that first Budweiser was issued at here.

Reason why I wrote it on chorus part that "Put your name on to someone's two hearts".
There is two part in all things, that I thought.
Result and root cause. Top and bottom, White and black, Light and shadow, Truth and　lie etc. Therefore I wrote it to my song that "two heart".

I have received envelope from my American friend last year. I was surprised because there is my picture on the cover of Rock Star magazine. That's awesome!
The my friend also like Rock music which featuring keyboards.
If I don't play keyboards, he complain to me because of that. Hey! I'm guitar player. But I trying to play keyboards anytime, anyway. What's up? This time I used my new studio as I explained it on last my blog. Title of the new music is "Manitowoc". You will find poor keyboard solo by this reason. I played guitar solo by Fender Stratocaster model #73-4B which I purchased them around '1981 as brand-new guitar. This guitar has white-ash as body material. And large head (late '60 style).
The rare point is the neck was installed by 4 screws even if it's large head model. (It's same as Anniversary model of "1979, that I guess.)
I replaced pick-up to Dimarzio FS-1 for neck and bridge position.
Then, I connected it to TS-9 (Maxon), and  to Marshall amp. I played backing guitar by latest Yngwie model which started to sell it in 2007 in Japan.  But my Yngwie model is one of prototype that I think because of excellent wood material and SNR (made on 2006). I purchased it from music shop of America before Japanese shop started to sell them. I connected it to KATANA boost (By Keeley), and to Marshall amp. Yeah, it's really simple system. I was in trouble to record sound of bass guitar till now. I started to use BASS POD of LINE6 from this time. I guess that I could get good result by it. I used bass guitar of Washburn "Kip Winger" model. I tried to sing a song for this time too. But it was very difficult for the high tone.
